Naked intruder breaks into Bel Air home, kills pet birds: video

Wild video footage shows a naked intruder walking around a California home even after being confronted by the owner — then “smiling like a serial killer” before killing two pet birds.

The security footage shows homeowner Mat Sabz shouting at the nude stranger who broke into his home in a gated community in Los Angeles’ exclusive Bel Air last Thursday afternoon.

Coming “eye to eye” with him as he looked down the stairs, Sabz told Fox 11 how he “immediately raised my voice and pointed at him, saying, ‘Hey! What are you doing?’”

“This is my house,” the intruder could be heard calmly replying in the Ring footage. “What are you doing here? I’m going to call the police right now.”

Sabz told Fox 11, “Right away I realized that this is not a person that you want to engage with any further.”

As the stranger started coming up the stairs, Sabz — who was home alone at the time — ran into the master bedroom, where he safely jumped off a balcony and called police, he said.

But the intruder made himself at home — sitting on the couch, trying on Sabz’s clothes and even taking a naked dip in the family’s pool.

“He broke the fireplace, he yanked the camera, he was wearing my shorts,” recalled Sabz, whose wife was watching the footage from afar and shouted at the mystery man to leave through a two-way audio system.

The bizarre intrusion took a sinister turn after he spotted the family’s pet parakeets, Sabz said.

“First, he smiled at them like a serial killer, saying, ‘Hey, birdies,’” he told Fox 11.

“Then he put his hands on them, dropped them, and stomped on them.”

He said the second bird “knew what was going on,” with the footage capturing it “screaming” before meeting the same fate.

“That kind of changed everything, when we saw that he killed these two defenseless animals,” Sabz said — with his young kids first to find the dead pets when they returned home.

When confronted, the intruder told Mat Sabz that he was "going to call the police right now" on the homeowner.

Sabz said he feels like his family “dodged a bullet” by not being home at the time.

“When you see what this guy did to the animals — we don’t know what he would have done to our family,” he told KTLA.

Paul K. Kiyan, 34, was arrested on suspicion of burglary after first being detained by private security, according to the Los Angeles Times. He is being held at a Los Angeles County jail on $50,000 bail, the paper said.
